Just stumbled on Dana Schutz artwork today and I was really impressed. I like how she describes the idea's around her work. It doesn't seem contrived which i like.

BP Portrait Award 2009

I was completely taken by surprise when I found out that a painting of mine was chosen for the BP Portrait Award Exhibition 2009. I got the catalogue yesterday and was thrilled to see my painting of Frances in a book along with some of the most brilliant portraits ive seen . Im so excited!!

My self and my sister took a trip to Rome, Assisi, and Florence. We had a few miss hap's along the way, ate lots of pasta and saw some the most incredible art in the world :)

Went to a Graffiti Jam at the Easter week end there, saw the sun and some amazingly talented artists. Took my camera along and took a few process shots.....

Spring

This pic was painted spring08. It was late April and I was listening to the new Sun Kil Moon album April, Hence the paintings title.....hhhmmmm maybe this album made me think of the idea for the painting.. It's hard to believe a year has gone by since I painted this...damn id better get my shit together.
