Kris Knight is a Toronto-based artist whose work examines performance in relation to the construction, portrayal and boundaries of sexual and asexual identities.Since graduating from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2003, Knight’s practice has concentrated on figurative works that explore various expressions of duality, often dealing with notions of hiding and fronting, ambiguity and androgyny.
His work involves the creation of invented and biographical character-based narratives that attempt to find a balance between the dichotomy of pretty and menace.
